AFTER many years of being accredited by Seta, Sivile Skills Training Centre has been awarded a discretionary grant from the construction Seta to train 15 students in community house building, NQF Level 2 in Kokstad.

Fifteen Sivile students recently completed a 10-day life-skills course.

Sivile Skills Training Centre said students do a four-month theory course, and then an eight-month practical course at construction sites, and they receive a R1 500 a month stipend.

Sivile chief executive officer Teresa Olivier said the school also provides teaches lplastering, tiling and bricklaying and in August it will offer first aid training.

“The community of Kokstad is getting a lot through education and training,” said Olivier.
