THE U19 Harry Gwala netball team is at the top of the league after beating Umgungundlovu 41-14 at a cluster league netball game at the Bhongweni Youth Centre in Kokstad last Saturday.

Ugu District was supposed to take part, but did not arrive.

The league is played by U17 and U19 netballers from all KZN regions.

Harry Gwala attacked from the beginning and did not give Umgungundlovu many chances to score.

The goal-scorer was Lindiswa Qina and Lindelwa Gibixhego played well defence.

In the U17’s first game between Harry Gwala and Umgungundlovu, Harry Gwala came out strong iin attacking, resulting in a 18-11 score in their favour.

In August the finals will be played in Kokstad - the date is yet to be confirmed.

KwaZulu-Natal regions that will play in the finals include King Cetshwayo, Ugu, eThekwini, iLembe, Uthukela,Zululand, Harry Gwala, Amajuba and Umgungundlovu.
