Umzimkhulu viewpoint

2017-11-24 06:00

Greetings to all

Miss TDFVA Umzimkhulu

THE Transkei Defence Force Military Veteran Association has started a programme that empowers, educates and motivates young people.

In partnership with Umzimkhulu Local Municipality the association will host a beauty pageant and the winner will take home a car.

Zonal competitions will be held to showcase transparency and ensure that young Umzimkhulu people are incorporated in the event. It is pleasing to have a community structure of the Umzimkhulu Transkei Defence Force Military Veteran Association that has a vision of empowering the youth so participants will be enlightened by taking part in the programme.

Exam month

As the municipality we pride ourselves on the role we play in elevating education within Umzimkhulu. It is again that time of the year when all our efforts and goals, in partnership with the Department of Education, are expected to bear fruit.

We call upon parents to create an enabling environment for their children in order to produce maximum results.

We also call upon pupils to keep away from any distraction because their full attention is vitally needed to “unchain” themselves.

We wish pupils and teachers wonderful and non-controversial exams.

Festive season crime awareness

It does not take a scientist to realise the festive season has begun and criminals at this time of the year become more creative in spoiling any form of good spirit.

We warn our communities to be mindful of these thugs and being vigilant and reporting any and all criminal acts it vital. For more tips on criminal awareness, go to our Facebook page Umzimkhulu Municipality - NMZ and our website www.um zimkhululm.gov.za

Till we meet again.
