Utterances shocking

2016-09-09 06:00

WE, a group of ANCYL REC members in Harry Gwala Region would like to express our shock and dismay at utterances attributed to the regional secretary of the ANCYL in the Fever of 26 August. We cannot help but wonder where such a decision was taken since the ANCYL REC last convened early this year.

We reject the comments with contempt and would like to place on record that we have full confidence in the ANC leadership collective in Harry Gwala region as led by Zamo Nxumalo and Sindi Msomi and will continue to support them throughout their term of office.

We are also concerned that the inclusion of a younger person within the ANC regional officials in the person of Nobuhle Nkabane is not serving the intended purpose. We hope her election is going to add value in terms of the advancement of the organisational interest with a renewed vigour not to cause instability.

We are aware that this crusade is way bigger than it seems. There are some respected and senior leaders who are pumping money into a campaign of fermenting instability in the region to achieve their unholy ambitions for the national conference in 2017, but they are going to fail.
We are combat-ready to advance women’s power come 2017.

Xolo Mhlongo
Deputy secretary
