STAFF and management of IThembalabantu Centre in Shayamoya are concerned about the high rate of vandalism at the centre.
The centre fence is cut almost everyday and all the green peaches in the garden have been stolen.

The centre is owned and managed by Sivile Housing Association and shares the premises with Sivile Housing Association, the Nardini Catholic Church, Tender Loving Care Hospice, EG and Usher Satellite Clinic, Sakhisizwe Pre-School, the Kitchen, Food Storage and Distribution Centre and the Multipurpose Sports Court.

Programme co-ordinator from Sivile Housing Association, Megan Van Der Lingen said every morning when they report to work the fence has been cut.

“If this continues Sivile will have to remove all the fruit trees out and take extra security measures to stop vandals. We appeal to the community to respect and protect this centre. If anyone witnesses people fence-cutting or vandalising the property, they must contact the Elite Security Company.
