WARD committee members from Umuziwabantu Local Municipality in Harding participated in a week-long workshop to capacitate them about local leadership at the municipality recently.
The workshop outlined the role of ward committees in local government.

The municipality wants ward committee members to understand the local government legal and policy framework, municipal processes like integrated development programmes, municipal performance management, local economic development, communication skills and municipal budgets.

“This workshop comes at the right time and will help us understand our duties, which will help the municipality,” said Sifiso Mteshane, Ward 10 committee member. Dixie Nciki, the mayor of Umuziwabantu Local Municipality said the workshop assists the municipality. “Ward committee members will understand their role in the municipality.” - Supplied.
