A NUMBER of dangerous weapons were seized during an operation conducted by Mount Fletcher Cluster police members from June 4 to June 9.

The operation started at Thaba Bosiu village and moved to Masakala, Lukholweni and Bubesi.

“Police raided illegal taverns at Lukholweni and two men, aged 21 and 23, were arrested for selling liquor illegally. At Masakala village, police confiscated dangerous weapons like knives and bush-knives and closed illegal liquor shops,” said SAPS spokesperson Captain Raphael Motloung.

Police also discovered dagga and other drugs at Solomzi village, outside Mount Fletcher, and two men, aged 30 and 31, were arrested.

Assisting the police were traffic police and South African National Defence Force members. Motloung said all suspects will be appearing in court soon.
