Woman allegedly defrauds students

2018-01-26 06:00

SOSHA Zincume, the owner of Zincume Security Services, is devastated after a female trainee allegedly disappeared with R28 900 in cash.

The woman’s name is being withheld because she has not yet been charged.

She allegedly accepted money unlawfully from students and promised to give certificates to students who wanted to do se- curity courses under Zincume Security Services.

It is alleged she accepted R1 280 from each student and issued fraudulent receipts and certificates under the Zincume Security Services name.

When she didn’t issue certificates to some students they went to the company’s offices to demand their certificates from management.

“More that 15 complaining students said they paid the woman R1 280 to do a security course and when I checked their receipts I discovered they had my fake signature.

“The woman was called to a hearing but failed to give answers, and disappeared,” said Zincume. The company operates in Kokstad and Umzimkhulu.

He said she allegedly did this to another employee, who also disappeared without notice.

SAPS spokesman Captain Dumisani Ncongo said a case of fraud was opened against the woman on January 10 and police are looking for her.

“The company has asked complaining students to come forward with affidavits as proof that they gave their money to the woman to do security courses.

“The company will give them a chance to study security courses and issue the correct certificates,” added Zincume.

He said the woman has dragged the company’s name through the mud and he wants police to arrest the woman and be punished for what she allegedly did.
