TO celebrate Women’s Month, businesswomen and young female athletes gathered in the Bongweni Youth Centre last Saturday to motivate and encourage each other to participate in sport and establish clubs.

The event was organised by the Harry Gwala Sport Confederation and KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport and Recreation.

Greater Kokstad Municipality deputy mayor, Karen Walker and Dolly Bihl, founder of NPO Untwist, motivated the women at the event.

Boxing coach Jean Nyembezi said the gathering was fruitful and she learnt many things. “Boxing is not only a man’s sport, young women must also do boxing.”
