THE Matatiele Business Chamber is pleased that women are getting involved in the business sector.
This comes after Dimakatso Maaki (30) from Matatiele opened her own make-up shop to fight unemployment.

Maaki said: “Young people who are unemployed need to start their own businesses instead of doing wrong.”
She said that she completed her matric in 2007 and due to the lack of money, she did not go to a tertiary institution.
Instead she worked at a superstore for six years and saved the money to start her own business.

“I started by selling clothes on the streets of Matatiele and last year I opened a make-up shop,” said Maaki.

Maaki said her passion and love for making people look beautiful contributes to her success.

Maaki said that her shop is mostly supported by matric pupils whowant to look good at the matric farewell and local women who attend events.
“I use make-up for people to see that it is important to look good,” said Maaki.

President of Matatiele Business Chamber, Zolile Mosweu called for other women and youth to enter the business industry to grow the local economy and create job opportunities.
