YOUNG people from Harry Gwala held a contractor development forum in Umzimkhulu last Saturday. The aim was to facilitate the access of young people into the public sector.

The forum was organised by the Harry Gwala ANCYL and attended by 50 young people, who are involved in business, and local business people.

Speakers encouraged young people who own companies to be strong and willing to face challenges.
“The youth league believes the forum will bear fruit for youth contractors who do businesses with government. We want to ensure that young people are empowered so they can contribute to the growth of the economy and invest in their communities,” said Qiniso Ntozakhe, the youth league secretary.

The league said it is to organise a meeting with Ithala Bank to assist young entrepreneurs to get loans for their business.
Last month, the youth league held a business breakfast in Ixopo and attendees were told by Department of Transport director general, Chris Hlabisa to seek business opportunities to contribute to the country’s economy.
