THE succession debate for the next president of the ruling
party has not started, but the ANCYL said it would support a female president in the next ANC elective congress.

On Sunday youth league from the Gungululu branch in Umzimkhulu celebrated the achievement of the ANC in the recent elections.
The KZN provincial secretary of the league, Sbongile Dlamini-Khathi attended the celebrations and supported a female ANC president.

African Union chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma is on top of many KZN youth league members’ lists.
The league is planning to bring together other structures to support Dlamini Zuma as the next president.

Before elections ANCYL members in Harry Gwala called for 40% of young people to be placed in top municipal positions.
Sbusiso Phuzi, the league spokesperson in Harry Gwala said their vision of placing young people in top positions is fulfilled.

“Next week there will be new mayors and deputy mayors, members of the executive council and councillors will be young people in all municipalities in Harry Gwala.

“The youth league will call on council members to look after needs of young people, including business, jobs and skills opportunities.”

Phuzi said there needs to be young people in Parliament who will push for youth programmes.
