ORLANDO Pirates assistant coach and legend Tebogo Moloi says the team’s recent form at home is a concern ahead of Saturday’s Confederation Cup clash with CS Sfaxien at Orlando Stadium.

Moloi was speaking after Pirates were dumped out of the MTN8 Cup following a 1-0 loss to Ajax Cape Town at the same venue last night.

The Buccaneers were also previously defeated 2-1 by visiting Egyptian giants Zamalek, although this took place at Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium.

By contrast Bucs recorded creditable 1-0 victories on the road over AC Leopards and Sfaxien in the continental tournament.

“We need to learn from the experience we had with Zamalek when we were playing in Mbombela that tactically and mentally we have to be there,” Moloi said.

“Especially take the form that we have been showing in away-games in the continental cup and bring it home and get positive results.

“So far we lost to Zamalek and now we lost to Ajax and we went to Swaziland and lost. We need to turn the tables around. Players need to understand that even here at home we need to make our people happy.

“There is no point in making supporters happy when we go away, and coming to the airport they all happy. Even here at home it has to be the same.”

Moloi said that Pirates need to be more clinical in front of goal. The Sea Robbers have only scored four times in their last five matches, which includes the pre-season events, the Carling Black Label Cup and the King’s Super Cup.

“We create chances, if you don’t take them this is the result that you get. It is football, the ball has to hit the back of the net. If it doesn’t hit the back of the net and you keep possession and play wonderful football, but if we are not scoring, it doesn’t give us any joy.”– KickOff.com
