Congratulations for top performers Congrats to Chelsea for winning it in style

2015-05-07 06:00

I AM sure there are three things that dominated our minds this week as far as the sports are concerned. Firstly, to see Chelsea wrapping it up and becoming the Barclays Premiership League champions was just out of this world.

Who can forget what was said by Chelsea’s manager, the “Special one” Jose’ Morihno when he went back to the English league. “I am back with a bang, in style and I’m

going to win the league title with Chelsea. I am not here for fun but to prove it I am the greatest and a special one.”

I agree, this man is always controversial and not kind to the media guys in most cases, but you got to love him. His character is not usual, knows his stuff and knows very well to play his mental games with his opponents. Congratulations are also in order for Kaizer Chiefs for winning the South African’s Absa Premiership in style.

To be confirmed league champions with a couple of games still left to round off the season was just pure class.

Chiefs proved that in the league campaign first 10 games are very important. Also discipline, focus and professionalism means a lot in any game or career.

The other sporting event that sparked off a lot of talk and criticism was the well advertised and much-talked about boxing match, billed the “fight of the century” between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

A lot of us that woke up at 1:30 am to watch the boxing match felt disappointed or let down by the organisers and the two boxers.

Most of us expected endless fireworks from the first gong. Some of the rounds lacked that spark and were boring. Also the results by the judges to give it to the American left a lot of us confused and unhappy. People out there felt the man from Phillipines did well to win the fight.

I just like how one of the boxing writers from The Guardian in UK put it. “Floyd Mayweather leaves us dazzled and confused, as ever”
