HIS stage name is DJ Foreman and he is from Imbali Unit 2. Party animals know him from Msenti’s Lounge in Imbali Unit J where every weekend he is the resident DJ.

Bongani Mpanza grew his love for music from a young age, so after seeing he was connecting with music, especially deep house music, he got a mentor.

“That is how I got my stage name. I was given it by my mentor Mondli Sibisi. I was quick to learn about music and producing and I was unaware that my mentor noticed that.

“After seeing my dedication and ability he asked me for a stage name and that is how Foreman came about. From there I never looked back. I continued and produced my own material. I have a song that I’m currently cooking in my studio at home.

“I mix songs by other deejays and try to come up with my own set,” said Mpanza.

He has now stolen a spot at Msenti’s Lounge.

“I thank the owner Sandile Sibetha for giving me the opportunity to be part of his place. It has given me exposure and gives me hope. I see myself reaching the Black Coffee level in music. The man is one of the DJs whom I look up to and I wish to be like him one day.

“Another deejay who does it for me is Culoe De Song. I’m taken by how he mixes his music. He is one of those grounded DJs with such talent.

“I have offered my musical service to places like Y2K, Bafana Boys Lounge and in Gauteng. In five years I see myself being one of the young boys from Imbali placing PMB on the map.”
