Financial co-op to host celebration gala dinner

2015-08-06 06:00

TO celebrate its sixth birthday, Cebisa Financial Services Co-Operative, established in 2009, is to host a black-tie gala dinner at the Protea Hotel on Saturday at 5pm.

The celebration will be prior to a Women’s Day celebration on Sunday by the organisation.

“We have grown from a small membership to 400. Most of our members are women and so this is why we chose this month [Women’s Month] to celebrate. Our services work with national Treasurer under the Co-operative Development Agency (CBDA) and the National Credit Regulator (NCR). We offer banking services for business, personal or educational loans at low interest rates. Members have benefited by buying cars, houses financed through Cebisa. We have also partnered with the Small Enterprise Finance Agency and now offer loans to small businesses. We also provide training and general networking opportunities through financial empowerment workshops and presentations,” said Cebisa marketing office Landu Shezi.

Like any other growing company, the company has a dream of becoming a co-operative bank.

“This is why we are hosting a gala dinner. We want to raise funds to see that dream becoming reality.

“Everyone is invited to the dinner - people from the business sector, individuals and people who have just an interest are more than welcome,” said Shezi.
