‘Four cup finals to go for Usuthu’ - Barker

2015-05-07 06:00

AMAZULU coach Steve Barker says his team have four cup finals left as they look to perform a great escape from Absa Premiership relegation this season.

Barker said this on the club’s website before their game against Platinum Stars at Princess Magogo Stadium yesterday.

Usuthu looked dead and buried under Craig Rosslee in the first half of the season, but since Barker took over in November, the team has managed to move off the bottom of the table at least once.

They are currently above-rooted at the bottom of the table after Moroka Swallows overtook them after the Dube Birds played to a one-all draw with University of Pretoria on Tuesday night. “These are very important times,” Barker tells the club’s website.

“As a result there is no time for errors and mistakes, but we must take each game as a cup final. So we have told ourselves we have four cup finals to go.”

There was no result in the match between Usuthu and Stars when Echo went to print yesterday. - KickOff
