2015-08-27 06:00

AFTER being shot at by robbers recently, jazz guitarist Zazi Mncube will be back on stage for the first time in over two months. The wound landed him in hospital for two weeks, and he first had to recuperate before picking up his guitar and taking to the stage again. He and local kwaito artist Mafeja will be performing in the show “Jazz meets Kwaito” to celebrate Women’s Month at Y2K in Imbali tomorrow at 6pm.

Mncube is a well-known jazz artist around Pietermaritzburg and other areas, with two CDs under his belt.

Mafeja (Mduduzi Ndlovu) made a name for himself with the hit Traffic Cop and scooped the Best Kwaito award at the Umgungundlovu District Level awards in 2012.

He has shared the stage with international artist Fetman Scoop from Germany and locally with Big Nuz, Professor, HHP Pantsula, among others.

‘[We]...have taken a step to celebrate Women’s Month by performing for women and making them happy,’ said Zazi.

Those attending the show are asked to dress in women’s clothes.

Admission is free, but those who want VIP treatment will have to pay R100
