THE Rotary Club of Pietermaritzburg recently treated 80 underprivileged children to a day at Bisley Miniature Train Rides.

All the children regularly attend the Sunday school and feeding scheme run by The Wheatfield Mission in Woodlands.

They were transported by Maharaj’s Coach Liners at a reduced rate, and the organisers of the train rides, Roy and Cynthia Clemitson from Allison Trust Homes for the Aged, arranged free entry for them.

“We are doing this in thanks to the PMB Rotary Club for all they do for the senior citizens at Allison Homes,” said Cynthia.

Rotary inter-actors from St Nicholas School and their teacher, Hayley Marcovich, assisted and were wonderful in the way they interacted with the children - playing and singing with them, looking after them and generally keeping them occupied and out of mischief.

“It was really a huge blessing to have them along and they are a lovely group which we are proud to have as Rotary inter-actors.” said Rotarian Moosa Allee.
