FOR the who’s who of Pietermaritzburg who would love to have some fun after a hard working year, the Botanical Gardens­ will host an Afrobeats Sunday Soul Session on 27 December.

The event, which will see old-school deejays sharing the stage, is organised by Think Big Marketing Strategies in partnership with local businessman, Bongani Ndlovu. Event organiser Zazi Nxele said: “While there are many festivities during this period, this will be a platform for those who have worked hard throughout the year to relax, network and reflect on their challenges and achievements.

“We want people to relax - there will be good food, good music and good company.

Deejays such DJ Bob Mabena, T-Boz Mokwele, Muzi “Afro Music” Nkosi, Vusi Letsoalo, Msizi Shembe, Jerry Jones and Mandla Mdletshe­ will be sharing the stage.

“People can bring their business cards as it will also be a networking session.”

The session starts at noon and finishes at midnight. Tickets available at R250, including a buffet. Alcohol will be sold at the venue, but people may bring their cooler boxes, and businesses can book tables for staff. Only 250 tickets are available.
