Esigodini Primary opens library

2015-11-11 06:00

“THE opening of the Esigodini Primary School library will not only assist in developing the school curriculum, it will also help the school continue producing reading pupils,” said principal Simo Msomi at the official opening on Friday.

The event was attended by senior education officials including the circuit manager Sandile Zondi, who was one of the guest speakers.

Apart from being the first school to build a library in Greater Edendale, the school is known for producing pupils who excel in reading English.

“We consider ourselves lucky. We were told about the library in the middle of the year. When we received a call from the Department of Education we couldn’t contain our excitement. The official opening was meant to be in July, however, that didn’t happen, instead we made it in October. We are happy for our pupils and this is an achievement for pupils and the school.

“Having the library on the premises will not only help in growing their reading, it will help pupils with their assignments and will also assist them in research.” said Msomi.
