THE annual Umgungundlovu Poetry Festival starts today, 3 December running for three days, at Kwa Brazzo Unit 1 at 6pm.

The purpose of the festival is to close poetry­ sessions in Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas for the year just before the festive seasons kicks in.

At the event people will be encouraged to behave responsibly, including staying away from drugs and harmfull substances, and not having unprotected sex.

Featured local artists are KZN Golide
Igama, Microphone,
Minenhle Mthembu,
Siyabonga Mpungose, and others, and everyone is invited.

Tomorrow, 4 December, the event will be held in the Bessie Head Library at 1.30pm and on Saturday, 5 December at Cotton Pub at 6pm.
