RIDGE Junior Primary School recently donated 11 computers and two printers to Hlelingomuso Public Primary in Imbali. Ridge principal Ann Dudley said that a member of Ridge’s governing body made them aware that Hlelingomuso needed computers. “We had computers which were in working condition, but were not being used. At a governing body meeting one member asked if we can donate them to the school. We then got in touch with the school and they said that having computers would benefit pupils a lot as they would make use of the computers and the printers. It is wonderful to work with a school that is proactive,” said Dudley. Hlelingomuso teacher Chris Thenjwayo, who also serves on Ridge’s governing body said he is excited that a partnership has been formed between Ridge Primary and Hlelingomuso. Thenjwayo is the one who alerted Ridge about Hlelingomuso’s need for computers. “They donated 11 computers and two printers which is beyond what we expected, and they are all in a working condition. The computers will help our pupils learn how to use them and become computer literate. The challenge we have at the moment is to find space to house them, however, we are grateful for their generosity,” said Thenjwayo.
