Thornville protest over service cut

2015-12-17 06:00

RIGHT2KNOW KZN has supported the Thornville community who were to
protest by picketing and blocking Ward 18 of the Msunduzi Municipality

The organisation said the municipality has since stopped basic services like electricity, water and sanitation and instructed Eskom not to install electricity in Ward 18 the ward of Councillor Cindy Gwala in Thornville.

“Without water, communities who can afford to, now have to buy water from companies like aQuellé, etc., and it is for such disservice to poor communities that R2K KZN supports Thornville’s call for mass action,” a press release stated.
