Church rallies for youth

2015-05-27 06:00

EVERY YEAR on 16 June, South Africa commemorates Youth Day.

The Christ Embassy Ministry has identified this day as an opportunity to intensify awareness on the dangers of illegal drug use, alcohol consumption, teenage pregnancy, activities related to violence and crime amongst the youth.

These issues will be discussed at the church’s youth rally in the Botshabelo Arena on 16 June under the theme Youth Unite for Peace.

“We as the church are taking the responsibility bestowed on us to bring change in the lives of our youth, the future generation of our society. The youth in our community need us in changing their lives for the better,” says the church’s youth coordinator, Mopeli Mamooe.

“As part of our social responsibility, the church saw a need to share the Word of God, which we believe will mould them to be good future leaders.”

The church hopes that this event will be a point of reference, as this will give the youth a platform to voice their challenges without fear of being wrong, while working together with the church to make a meaningful contribution towards the moral regeneration of our country.

“We believe the impact of the Word of God will bring sanity and positive development to the youth, improve their lives and help them to be better people.”

Learners from Botshabelo, Bloemfontein and Thaba Nchu are invited by the church to attend the event.

The community, parastatals and government can call Mamooe on 073-779-8808 to find out how they can support the church
