THE Goldfields Casino has lined up a spectacular one-night comedy show for 29 August in Welkom featuring three of South Africa’s hottest comedians.

They are Celeste Ntuli, Ndumiso Lindi and Conrad Koch. The trio is set to delight comedy fans in the Goldfields when they share the stage.

The comedy show comes on the heels of the musical event earlier this month, featuring musicians Francois Henning (Snotkop), Joe Foster, Johnny Apple and Lianie May.

Sibongile Tantsi, the Goldfields Casino’s marketing manager, says: “Hosting these three acts on one stage is incredibly exciting for Goldfields. Fans cannot afford to miss this live one-night-only show. We are proud to bring these well-loved South African comedians to fans in our area. With a line-up this formidable, tickets are set to sell out quickly, so we encourage our guests to get them early,” said Tantsi.

Ntuli is known as the queen of Zulu comedy and is the first ever local female comic to record a one-woman show DVD. Seriously Celeste is a collection of her performances across the country.

Celeste attributes her success to the fact that she has no holy cows – stereotypes, relationships and social issues – no subject is taboo as far as she is concerned. A full-time stand-up comedian for the past five years, Ntuli has the ability to make audiences laugh out loud.

Lindi hails from Zwelitsha, a small township next to King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape. He considers his family members as some of the greatest comics, and they, along with other comedy idols like Eddie Murphy and Bill Cosby continue to inspire him.

Lindi was one of a few select South African comedians chosen to star in the Vodacom Funny Festival at the Baxter Theatre.

He was a raving success and has since become a firm favourite for corporate events.

Koch is one of South Africa’s most in demand comedy talents. He combines hilarious comedy with world-class puppetry, meet Ronnie (the precocious monster), Chester (the 51% BEE partner), and Hilary (an ostrich with a bad attitude). He has been making audiences laugh for over 15 years to local and international acclaim. He has worked all over the world, been featured on local and international television and is a frequent guest at some of South Africa’s biggest comedy events.

Tickets are available from Computicket and the Goldfields Customer Service desk at R120 per ticket. The doors open at 18:30. For more information on forthcoming shows, visit or call the Goldfields Casino information desk on 057-391-5710
