DENZIL FIFF, a gr. 12 learner of the Sentraal High School, is Express’s SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for July.

This talented 18-year-old rugby player has been playing for various Free State teams since 2009.

Denzil has played for the u.16 Grant Khomo team (2012, 2013), the u.18 Free State Eagles XV (2014) and has also participated in the u.18 Coca-Cola Academic Week for the Free State team, to name but a few.

He also plays for the Sentraal High School’s first rugby team.

Denzil draws his inspiration from his father, who played rugby when he was younger.

He also looks up to All Black midfielder Malakai Fekitoa, one of his sporting heroes.

One of his dreams Denzil hopes to realize is to play rugby at international level.

His motto is: Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.

This year, SuperSport’s Let’s Play celebrates ten years.

Submit your SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month nomination for school learners between the ages of six and 18 today (nominations received before the 20th of each month will be included in that month’s selection).

You can email your nomination to or send a fax to 086-552-4922.

Initiative still going strong

SuperSport over time has evolved as the quintessential sports authority.

With such strong sporting influence within the South African market, SuperSport has been perfectly poised to harness this power and rally the public and corporates to truly make a difference in society.

SuperSport identified that there were huge issues severely inhibiting the development of children through skills learned by playing, physical education and sport – all of which are imperative to the holistic development of young people.

It was from this insight that Let’s Play was born in November 2005 with the aim of elevating awareness of our social situation and to introduce and encourage play, activity and sport in schools.
