Mashaba in hot water?

2015-09-16 06:00

BAFANA BAFANA coach, Ephraim Shakes Mashaba, could be in hot water for taking charge of the Nedbank Ke Yona team just merely 24 hours after an embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Mauritania.

Bafana are bottom of their group in the Africa Cup of Nations after losing to Mauritania in Nouakchott on Saturday (12/09).

The next day Mashaba was with the Nedbank Ke Yona side that went down 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Mashaba’s participation with the Nedbank Ke Yona team midway through the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fifa) international week, and after a shocking result, is viewed as insensitive by the South African Football Association (Safa) hierarchy.

Safa says they will look into the matter.

“This is something Safa will definitely look at,” said Safa head of communications, Dominic Chimhavi.

“The Nedbank Ke Yona is not a Safa-sanctioned match,” added Chimhavi
