LEADING hip-hop artists and South African rapper Cassper Nyovest are expected to hit the headlines during the second annual Summer Music Explosion which will be held at the Transka Resort in Warrenton on Saturday, 19 December.

A star-studded line-up for the festival is finalised. Nyovest’s frequent collaborator, Ricky Rick, promises to mesmerise fans with top-class performances from well-known DJs.

According to Mojalefa Maijane, organiser of the festival, planning was done in time as they knew what they wanted.

He assured that the line-up would attrack bigger crowds due to the stable foundation that the festival was built on.

“This year it is set to be bigger and better, with some of the most talented names in the music business,” Maijane said.

“Nyovest is trending on Twitter and has recently won a notable number of awards.”

Nyovest reached his dream to fill up the Dome in Johannesburg during his performance, which could be described as unforgettable, on Friday (30/10) night.

“Last year we laid a solid foundation when we hosted the festival at the same Transka Resort. People from surrounding towns and from outside the province came to the resort to enjoy the music from reputable artists and DJs,” he said.

Shimza, Lesedi FM’s Finzo, the Kimberley-based DJ Duke Soul, Tshego and Gemini Major are expected to complete the show with quality music. They will be supported by DJ Scott from Upington, Papa, Big Boy of Motsweding FM, Collin Carey and Chipzitto. Local DJs Lloyd, Cool C, Nimza, PK and KG from Pretoria, as well as the eight-year-old music sensation from Vryburg, MC Tsotso, will also show what they can do.

Ricky Rick will surely perform his famous songs from his album Family Values, such as Boss Zonke, Better Dayz and Mswenkofontein amongst others.

He just might perform with Nyovest on a booming new track, Fuseg, which is built on a pitched-up sample and distorted bars.

DJ Finzo recently performed overseas and listeners of the popular Lesedi FM afternoon drive show, Re Ya Kubeletsa, presented by Twasa and Ba2cada, can listen to his mix on weekdays.

Duke Soul, whose house-album Homemade is doing well in the market with a favourite track, Hulana street, has no stage fright at all because of his national performances across the country and overseas.

According to Maijane, there will be arts and crafts, food-stalls, a beer garden, a golden circle and VIP areas.

He said the resort was the perfect venue because of its natural serenity and scenery.

Tickets for the festival are available at Compu-ticket.

Tickets are R100 for early birds, R120 from 1 December, R150 at the gate, R250 for golden tickets and VIP tickets are R400. Discount tickets are available for group bookings.
