LOCAL schools have a chance in a lifetime to not only win R100 000 for their school music programme but also perform live on stage with global music superstar Pharrell Williams.

To enter, school singing groups are urged to submit audition videos of the group performing a song of inspiration to win entry for a chance to appear on stage with Williams and win a cash prizes of R100 000.

In September, one school singing group in South Africa is going to get the opportunity of a lifetime to perform live, on stage, with Williams, whereafter Woolworths, in collaboration with Williams, will be hosting a first of its kind private concert for its WReward customers.

Shelly Stamatiadis, a consultant at Meropa Communications, said the final selection of the top three acts will be made by Williams himself.

“To enter, schools have to put together a singing group (it does not have to be an official choir) of between 5 and 20 learners, aged between 8 and 18.

“They should film the group performing a song of their choice song, load the song onto YouTube and send their full entry (along with all their details) to, Stamatiadis said.

Entries close on 31 July.
