IN 2015 SuperSport’s Let’s Play celebrates ten years of getting the children of South Africa active.

Tshepang Selemogo (12) has been chosen as August’s Express Northern Cape SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for his brilliant performance in soccer.

High expectations are set for this u.13 Bushbucks midfielder when he will be representing the province in the upcoming Safa u.13 national tournament in the Free State.

He will be among the 20 u.13 hopefuls from around the province who will sell themselves to scouts throughout the tournament in order to make it to the different soccer academies.

Selemogo has since made a name for himself in the development structure for scooping the top goal scorer award in the Galeshewe and Mankurwane structure three times in a row.

He won the u.11 top goal scorer in the 2013 and 2014 season, and the top goal scorer in the 2014 season.

Tshepang is also proud of his achievement of the top player of the tournament during the Safa activities during the 2014 sports season.

His coach, Tshekisho Tokelo, is confident that Selemogo will make a good impression due to his magical soccer skills.

He expects the young player to return with a tag to join one of the national development structures in the upcoming season.

“I keep on reminding him that he has to play his best soccer as there will be scouts, and that there will be many players whom they will be competing against,” added the coach.

“All he has to do is to put his God-given talent to use. That boy performs miracles on the field.”

More on the Let’s Play initiative

SuperSport over time has evolved as the quintessential sports authority.

With such strong sporting influence within the South African market, SuperSport has been perfectly poised to harness this power and rally the public and corporates to truly make a difference in society.

SuperSport identified that there were huge issues severely inhibiting the development of children through skills learned by playing, physical education and sport – all of which are imperative to the holistic development of young people.

It was from this insight that Let’s Play was born in November 2005 with the aim of elevating awareness of our social situation and to introduce and encourage play, activity and sport in schools.

Send your SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month nomination for school learners between the ages of six and 18 today (nominations received before the 20th of each month will be included in that month’s selection).
