Response full of lies

BEN VENTER, DA councillor:

THE response of Tshediso Maitse of the Dihlabeng Municipality in the Express Eastern Free State of (07/10) regarding the closed doors of the new Bohlokong Hall booked for a DA meeting, is full of lies.

It is not true that another event was hosted in the hall on Saturday, 3 October. DA members patrolled the area by foot and with vehicles on Saturday morning, with no sign of anybody in or near the hall.

Maitse must produce a copy of the contract, and receipt of payment, by the other party who held an event in the hall on Saturday.

On Saturday from 13:30, DA member of the Provincial Legislature Roy Jankielsohn, all DA Dihlabeng councillors, and DA supporters were at the hall to arrange the seats, just to discover that nobody was available with the keys. The DA caucus chair, Cllr Gerrie Roetz, made a number of phone calls to the acting municipal manager and the relevant people, but got no assistance. It is therefore not true that the DA only discovered the missing keys on Sunday morning, as stated by Maitse. The DA could not find any employee working overtime on Saturday.

On Sunday morning a locksmith opened the doors, and thereafter the DA councillors and supporters could arrange the chairs in rows, because it had not been done by municipal employees.
