IN 2015 SuperSport’s Let’s Play celebrates ten years of getting the children of South Africa active.

Dirquin Storm (14), a learner at the Steynville High School in Hopetown, has been chosen as July’s Express Northern Cape’s SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for his brilliant performance in soccer.

He is also known as Didi, Little Maestro, Messi and The King of Storms by his peers.

He started his soccer career when he was 11 years old at Oranje Diamant Primary School. In 2014 he represented the Steynville High School in the boys u.14 McDonald Cup provincial tournament in Upington as captain. He was also part of the u.16 boys’ team at the Sasfa u.16 provincial tournament in Brits-town.

This year he represented the school at the Copa Coca-Cola u.15 boys provincial tournament in Kimberley where he led the team to victory and where he was voted as player of the tournament.

He is currently part of the school’s u.17 league team. A promising future awaits this boy. You can email your nomination to or fax to 086-552-4922.

SuperSport identified that there were issues inhibiting the development of children through skills learned by playing, physical education and sport.

It was from this insight that Let’s Play was born in November 2005 with the aim to introduce and encourage play, activity and sport in schools
