THE Back to the Cross Tour of MTN Joyous Celebration lived up to its high expectations in Bloemfontein this past weekend.

On Saturday, the Vista Arena of the University of the Free State (UFS) came alive with the sounds of the most successful ensemble in Mzansi and it wowed the audience who came in large numbers.

Despite the wet weather, the gospel music lovers from across the Free State filled up the Vista Arena to the rafters.

The show was sold out days before the actual event.

When Joyous Celebration took to the stage, they were met by deafening screams from the crowd.

As is always the case, Jabu Hlongwane’s lead ensemble did not disappoint as they gave out a great performance, much to the delight of the crowd, who certainly got their money’s worth.

The spirited fans enjoyed themselves to the full as they danced and sang along to their favourite tunes performed by their favourite group.

Joyous Celebration’s live shows are a marvel to watch, and Saturday was no different. The audience responded appreciatively to all the tunes.

Meanwhile, Joyous Celebration held a very successful audition in Bloemfontein on Friday.

Hundreds of hopeful contestants delivered heart-wrenching and powerful sounds, making it hard for the judges to decide.

The names of those who did enough to impress the judges will be announced at the end of this month
