BETHLEHEM. – Rantsi Mokoena, the Free State Stars general manager, is confident that his outfit will do well in the upcoming Absa Premier League season after they signed on 12 new players.

The 12 players include the Tanzanian and Zimbabwean national team players Mrisho Ngasa and Liberty Chakoroma who are both midfielders.

Other new signings include Lucky Mohomi, Sinethemba Jantjie, Thabo Moseki, Inmawell Shelembe, Sizwe Nkambule, Mpho Thulo, Tshepo Mothipa, Cebo Masena, Joseph Mhlongo and Sifiso Mbhele.

Mokoena said the past two seasons had been tough for them and they did not want to see a repeat of that again.

He said they had assembled a good squad that would compete next season.

“We have kept the core of the players who were with the team last season. They have ended the league at a high pace and we are hoping for the same positive attitude.

“The new players will not struggle to fit in with the team and I am hoping for a better season ahead,” he said.

Ea Lla Koto’s test comes as early as Saturday (07/08) when they welcome Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem.

The kick-off is scheduled for 15:00. Stars have had their pre-season camp in Johannesburg and during that time they played a few friendly games including a Lesotho tour. ) What do you think of Free State Stars’ new players and where do you think the team will finish in the 2014-’15 season?
