JOHANNESBURG. – Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala said the club’s new signings had arrived at a time of raised expectations at Naturena.

Chiefs unveiled eight recruits on Monday, 27 June, including former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Keagan Buchanan, Enocent Mkhabela and Sibusiso Khumalo.

The Glamour Boys are eager to make an impact in Steve Komphela’s second season in charge following a trophyless 2015-’16.

“I would like to welcome the guys and wish them well. They have arrived at a time when we have to raise the stakes.

“This will be hard work and that is why we have to start now and push for success,” Tshabalala told the official website.

“Shabba” is looking forward to the fresh campaign as the Amakhosi ease into their pre-season preparations.

“It is great to be back. The family has reunited and we are working to improve on what was a disappointing season.

“That is now behind us and we have to be optimistic in order to work positively.”
