It is all systems go with the focus on education for learners and teachers of the Delportshoop High School – thanks to AfriSam.

AfriSam has donated 12 laptops at the end of last year following a burglary at the school in September.

The incident, wherein 12 laptops, projectors and an undisclosed amount of money is reported to have been stolen, left the school barely functional, with one laptop to prepare results.

The school principal, Andre de Kock, described how the incident resulted in a knock-back for staff members trying to keep up with crucial administration during the end of the 2017 academic year.

This impacted activity for the school as it affected 17 classes in total.

“We lost our computers and we could not complete important tasks,” De Kock said.

“We are very grateful to AfriSam as they have given us a great gift.

“Our learners will be able to continue their studies without any disturbances to their curriculum whatsoever.

“We are confident that the laptops did not only assist with the preparing of the results, but will in future contribute to the learners’ computer skills and more efficient processing of administration and paperwork for the school,” says Johan Fourie, AfriSam’s general manager at the company’s Ulco factory.
