The Dr Viljoen Combined School in Bloemfontein will have a strong team of athletes to participate in this year’s Motheo Athletics Regional meeting.

This athletic meeting will take place over two days, on Friday (16/02) and Saturday (17/02).

In total, the school will have nine athletes in action at the Motheo regional meeting.

The athletes are Tiro Segalo, Kgothatso Lithakong, Katlego Setilo, Johanna Phawatsane, Confidence Rens, Kananelo Stofile, James Chingange, Shala Phetlu and Tlalefo Seekoe.

They qualified to participate in both track and field events following their indivi­dual sterling performances at the zonal meeting held on Friday, 2 February, and Saturday, 3 February.

The zonal athletics series was staged at the Free State Athletics Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The forthcoming event will feature several schools from the Xhariep region and promises great action.

The meeting is for both primary and secondary schools of the Free State Department of Education.
