Band to enthrall audience

2016-04-27 06:00

LOCAL duet music band Alah Yen will get a taste of the big stage when performing live at the Windmill Casino’s Diamond Lil’s in Bloemfontein on Saturday (30/04).

Entry is free for the audience attending the show, set to start at 21:00.

Alah Yen’s performance is true to the casino’s promise to give local bands and artists a platform to showcase their talents.

The dynamic duo of Nomkhita “Queen K” Tyumani and Lehlohonolo “Lim” Mokoena, are expected to enthral the audience by performing uplifting songs.

They each have their own unique style and come from different music backgrounds. However, they come together in a spectacular fusion.

Together they have performed at prominent music festivals including the Mangaung African Cultural Festival (Macufe), the F2 Power Boat World Championship and the Cherry Festival amongst others.

They have also made several television appearances, including SABC 3’s Espresso.

In 2014 the duo became the first group to release a song for Nelson Mandela while he was in hospital before his passing.

The song was featured on iTunes for download.

Alah Yen is not only known for their music, but also for their community projects, such as Give a Child a Teddy and Operation Mazibuye, through their non-profit Alah Yen Foundation.

Alah Yen released their album entitled The Reflection in 2015, featuring songs like “Combolo”, “My Number 1”, “Khauleza”, “Sputswe” and other soulful tracks.
