Sanral has advised motorists to be cautious on the N6 following the rehabilitation of the road. The rehabilitation of section six of this national route between Rouxville and Smithfield commenced earlier this month.The company, WBHO Construction, is assigned for the rehabilitation of the road with the monitoring of the works performed by Aurecon South Africa. Construction will be carried out in half-width sections in clearly defined construction zones. The nature of the construction work makes provision for necessary stop-and-go points to be in operation during the day and traffic signal control during the night.Motorists are advised to be observant of the advance warning signs and lane closures and should exercise caution when travelling through the construction work zones. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/h, and will be enforced.The works are expected to be completed in May 2020.
