Bloemfontein has a proud representative in this year’s Mrs South Africa pageant, a competition for married contestants from age 25 to 50.

Winlove “Winnie” Kamolane (36), represents the Free State.

She is in the top 100 semifinalists vying for the title in this year’s Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa pageant.

She was announced as one of the top 100 semifinalists for 2018 out of a record number of entries received.

She was chosen on, among other factors, the strides she has made in empowering women and the advancing of the empowerment of women in business.

Kamolane is a financial advisor and a mother of four boys.

She is the founding director of WinPro Financial Services, an authorized independent financial services provider.

“I am extremely excited to represent the beautiful Free State in this empowering platform,” said Kamolane.

“My passion lies in education and empowerment opportunities for women.

“As a financial advisor and a mother, I understand the challenges women face when it comes to managing household finances effectively.

“I believe with improved skills in this area, women will be far better financial managers who can positively enhance change in their respective households.

“My wish is to use the Mrs South Africa platform to empower more women across our province with essential life-changing financial literacy and management skills.”

Of the top 100 only 25 women will be shortlisted as finalists to continue the journey to scoop the Mrs South Africa crown.

The crowing will take place on 29 June at the annual Charity Ball event at Centre Court, Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

It is required that Kamolane receive enough votes to be in the 25 finalists, from which the winner will be chosen.

To vote for her, SMS “Winlove Kamolane” to 35959 (an SMS costs R3). Supporters may vote as many times as they like.

The voting is part of the pageant’s official Charity, Women4Women South Africa. All proceeds will go towards the initiative.

The pageant celebrates marriage and the essence of being a real woman.

It was created for married women who would ordinarily not have such a platform to compete and be ambassadors for South Africa on a global scale.

The opportunities and platform that have been created for Mrs South Africa entrants are significant.

It aims to inspire women to follow their dreams and become voices of positive change.
