Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has donated bicycles to a group of learners in Phuthaditjhaba in the Free State on Saturday (26/10) in marking Transport Month, celebrated during October. The bicycles are part of the Shova Kalula Bicycle programme, an initiative by the Department of Transport to provide transport to learners walking long distances to schools. The learners earmarked as beneficiaries, are those who walk to school more than 5 km daily and still attend school. Mbalula also launched transport career awareness for youth in Phuthaditjhaba. The purpose of the career exhibition is to expose young people to job opportunities available in the transport sector.
