The only way to know if you are at risk is to have your blood pressure mea-sured,” explains Dr Michael Mol, head of Hello Doctor. “High blood pressure is also known as a chronic or non-communicable disease. It is called chronic because it deve-lop over a long period, mostly due to continued exposure to an unhealthy lifestyle,” Mol says. “The good news is that blood pressure tests are quick and minimally invasive.“They also have the potential to save lives.” The free blood pressure tests are available at 146 MediRite pharmacies, conveniently located in Checkers and Shoprite supermarkets across South Africa.
