A bogus advocate, Gideon Adams (35), is set to appear before the Douglas Magistrates Court on Thursday (30/11) for a formal bail application after his brief court appearance on Tuesday, 21 November.

Adams is facing charges of fraud following his arrest at his home in Prieska on Monday, 20 November, for impersonating a legal representative.

It is alleged that the suspect posed as an advocate and he apparently defrauded different parties of tens of thousands of rands.

During this period, he allegedly charged an attorney fee to his clients.

According to Capt. Sergio Kock, police spokesperson, several documents and proof of payments that allegedly implicate the suspect in this regard, were confiscated by police.

Anyone who may have fallen victim to the alleged suspect is requested to call Det.Sgt Calvin Botha on 082-301-9978.
