At least ten boxers will represent the province in the youth and junior category in the national boxing competition in Limpopo next month.

The team consists of members of the Galeshewe-based Freedom Boxing Club and the Warrenton-based Blossom Boxing Club, as well as the Bushy Academy and the Home Defenders Boxing Club from Kimberley.

The boxers were selected for the team at the provincial trials held in Warrenton on Wednesday, 5 September. The trials were hosted by the Blossom Boxing Club.

Four boxers from the province were also selected to participate in the national elite trials that will be hosted at a venue still to be confirmed in KwaZulu-Natal from Friday (28/09) to Sunday (30/09).

They are: Motlalepula van Reiness (female category), Thuso Motshabi (both of Home Defenders), Gopolang Bahule (Motaung Boxing Club in the John Taolo Gaetsewe Region) and Ronald Chabaemang (Tsantsabane Boxing Club).
