A 17-YEAR-OLD was found guilty in the Kimberley High court on Thursday (19/04) after pleading guilty on charges of murder and attemp-ted robbery.

The case was postponed to 9 June for pre-sentencing and the accused remains in custody.

According to Sgt Majang Skalkie it is alleged that on Tuesday, 26 January, at about 17:30, the deceased, Christopher Morameli (30), walked alone in Chris Hani Park in Galeshewe when he was approached by the accused.

The accused tried to rob him of his polony and stabbed him in the chest.

“The deceased died on his way to the hospital,” stated Skalkie.

Brig. Nomana Adonis, the Galeshewe station commander, applauded the investigating officer, Det. Sgt Attie Browers, for the way he had hand-led the investigation as the accused was a minor.
