THE Bloemfontein High Court has sentenced two brothers to 12 years in prison each for robbing a couple at knifepoint in September last year. The robbers are Lehlohonolo and Thabiso Lebusu.

The court found them guilty during their appearance in March this year and sentenced them on Monday 4 July for their criminal deeds.

They were found guilty of robbing a couple of their mobile phones and laptops on the morning of 21 September.

The accused had threatened the couple with knives after confronting them.

The couple were on their way from the Bloemfontein Tourism Centre and heading towards their residence in King Edward Street, Willows, when the Lebusu brothers attacked them and robbed them at knifepoint.

The accused were arrested months later by the investigative officer of the Park Road Police Cluster.

Capt. Chaka Marope, spokesperson of the Park Road Police Cluster, said the couple’s belongings, mobile phones and laptops were also discovered upon the arrest of the two brothers.
