THE Toyota Free State Cheetahs have announced their Super Rugby pre-season squad.

The 51-man squad commenced training this week and will be playing a series of friendly matches as they prepare for next year’s competition.

Franco Smith’s men will open their Super Rugby account against a new team from Argentina at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein
on Friday, 26 February 2016, at 19:00.

The Free State side finished last year’s campaign on position 12 in a combined (15-team) log after they had collected 34 points from 16 matches, while they had also finished at the bottom of the South African Conference with 26 points after the same number of matches.

The Cheetahs will be
hoping to do well and be challenged for the championship this time around, but they will also have to be at their best to defeat some of the strongest opponents in the tournament.

The Toyota Cheetahs will be facing the team from Argentina in their first Super Rugby encounter for 2016 on Friday, 26 February, at 19:00 in Bloemfontein.
