THE Bloemfontein Children’s Choir is currently hosting auditions in the Free State capital.

The group is particularly looking for primary school learners from gr. 2 to gr. 7, who are able to sing and dance.

“This is a great chance for them to let their dreams come true. We extend our invitation to all primary school learners to come to the auditions so that they can become members of this choir,” said Eloreze Pieterse, an organiser of the auditions.

“We are planning exciting things for next year. The choir will be performing at the South African Rugby Union (Saru) Rugby Awards ceremony at the Gallagher Estate in February.

“We are also planning a tour to America and Canada. This will include a performance in Carnegie Hall in New York City, performances at Fort-Worth in Texas, Disneyworld, as well as participation in the International Kathaumixw Choral Competition in Powell River, Canada,” explained Pieterse.

Under the baton of the founder of the choir, Dr Huibrie Verster, children are exposed to a vast variety of music, while they get the opportunity to develop their talents as well as the road to self-realisation. They are also given the opportunity to represent their country, through participation in world-wide competitions.

Locally, they have the pleasure of performing with well-known artists such as Chris Chameleon, Laurika Rauch, Nataniël as well as André Rieu. The auditions take place in the Universitas Church, Strauss Street, in Bloemfontein.

To make an appointment for auditions, contact Eloreze Pieterse on 072-294-4117.
