Club rebuilding

2017-03-29 06:03

The Crusaders Rugby Club in Heidedal, Bloemfontein, is on a mission to rebuild after a disappointing season.

The club will host a jam-packed annual Cheetahs Club Rugby Day on 1 April at the Clive Solomon Stadium where three teams campaigning in three different divisions will be in action.

Activities are scheduled to start at 12:00. This will be followed by a function at the team’s clubhouse to introduce current and former players as well as recruitment of membership.

Ronald October, vice-chairperson, said the rebuilding process will afford newly recruited players a chance to showcase their talent and give them game time.

“The past two years were very disappointing after losing a number of top players,” he said.

October attributes the team’s change of fortunes to good leadership under Henry Geduldt, current chairperson.

“The objective of the function is to start a team of golden oldies who will inspire the current generation,” said October.
